Summer Artist Talk @ Beverly Library

Summer Artist Talk @ Beverly Library

Join us for a viewing of the art installed in the Beverly Library and a conversation with the artists, Tim Anderson and Brian Ritchard. Their work, commissioned by the city’s Department of Cultural Affairs, was installed in the library more than five years ago. While little signage currently exists to provide background on the paintings and the context in which they exist in our city, the artists will share their perspectives on the work that hundreds of patrons walk past on a daily basis. Anderson will speak about his “Faces of Chicago” portraits, which include Nelson Algren, John Vanderpoel, and bluesman Howlin’ Wolf. Ritchard, a North Beverly resident, will give insight on his landscape-inspired paintings, “Clerestory Suite,” which were inspired by Dan Ryan Woods. All ages are welcome to view and discuss the paintings with the artists.
