The Alliance Outdoor Music Series merges the best of the Chicago music scene with the unique character of the city’s south side. Born out of the serious circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Alliance Outdoor Music Series utilizes various neighborhood spaces to provide socially distanced live music in an intimate surrounding and allow musicians the opportunity to perform in non-traditional settings. From solo performers to small musical acts, the Alliance Outdoor Music Series celebrates all the sounds of Chicago.

In 2020, the Alliance hosted five outdoor concerts, including Nora O’Connor, member of the Flat Five; Jon Langford, longtime Mekons lead; Rick Rizzo, Eleventh Dream Day guitarist, Dowd & Drew, Chicago singer/songwriters; Michael Damani Band, an emerging blues artist; and Electric Dirt, a Levon Helm cover band. In addition to supporting Chicago musicians and providing local audiences safe, socially-distanced live music, the Jon Langford and Rick Rizzo shows raised more than $2,500 for the Nicholas Tremulis Family Go Fund Me Campaign, and $500 in donations were collected for CIVL (Chicago Independent Venue League).
In looking to 2021, the Alliance is finalizing dates for a new cohort of musicians, including Scott Lucas, lead singer of Local H; Bethany Thomas, Hideout regular; Part-Time Lovers, 80s love song cover band featuring Liam Davis, Gerald Dowd, and Justin Roberts; and more. Details and ticket information out soon.
