About the artist: Alicia Townsend, affectionately known as “Ya Yah”, is a Chicago native whose influences include Jazz, Gospel, Rock, Soul, Funk and RnB. In addition to music, she has a strong background in professional theater and dance.
Ya Yah’s talents and amazing work opportunities have taken her to New York City, Germany, Holland, Italy, and Poland. Currently she is a singer at Buddy Guy’s Legends and the host and coordinator of Boats and Blues: A Pro Blues Jam, every Thursday night at Burnham Harbor, Chicago.
